Equipment in this Lab

Tools and accessories that power laser cutting & engraving. (Swap model names/specs below to match your exact units.)

  • CO₂ Laser Cutter — 100W

    Larger bed for bigger panels and faster passes; great for 1/4" materials. Air assist, passthrough.

  • Rotary Attachment

    Engrave cylindrical items (tumblers, bottles). Diameter range: small to medium.

  • Fume Extraction & Filtration

    Inline blower with ducting & filtration to keep the lab clear and safe.

  • Air Assist Compressor

    Cleaner cuts and reduced scorching on wood/acrylic; adjustable flow.

  • Calipers & Material Gauge

    Measure material thickness precisely for focus and power/speed presets.

  • Design Workstation

    Preloaded with LightBurn & Inkscape. USB/networked send to laser; color-mapped layers.

  • Materials Library & Jigs

    Common cut/engrave presets and reusable alignment fixtures for repeat jobs.

Access & Safety

How to access: 1) Take Laser Orientation → 2) Review safety guide → 3) Reserve equipment → 4) Clean up & log usage.

Materials: Only approved materials (no PVC, vinyl, mystery plastics). When in doubt, ask a Steward.

PPE: Eye protection recommended; keep hair/clothing secure; never leave the laser unattended.
