DonateAt our initial founding as a rag tag group of makers and artists, we would get together to share ideas, hold events on Arduino and glass cutting, and teach summer programs on rockets, soldering, and woodworking. After a lot of support, time, and hard work we became a real organization and created our first makerspace. Since opening, we've grown and put on a number of community based projects, including a massive push to create PPE for medical professionals at the onset of COVID. The Makerlab is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) registered organization. All donations are sincerely appreciated and will go directly towards the cost of running the MakerLab. Fill out the form below to support our local maker space and maker community. The Makerlab would not be what it is today if not for our generous donors over the years. There are a great many donors we owe our gratitude to over the years. We can't name them all and if you don't see them on the list contact us. We would like to thank: The Community Foundation, the Powerhouse, the Harms family, LPEA, La Plata Economic Development Association, SCAPE, and countless others. Donation DriveThis month we have a goal to raise $5000 in addition to our normal revenue stream. This goal is to raise extra capital to purchase new equipment and expand our space and services beyond what we can do with our normal revenue stream that keeps the lights on. |

Thanks to the generosity of over 450 regional donors: the El Pomar Foundation, The Moniker Foundation, New Mexico Fund, the Gates Family Foundation, and the Coutts & Clark Western Foundation and our GoFundMe Campaign, plus pro bono support from our partners at Fort lewis College Physics and Engineering Department, Alpacka Raft, SoundTraxx, StoneAge, Bedrock Backpacking Bags, Holt Sheet Metal, Rally Design Co., and Stitch—we’ve quickly been able to locally design, prototype, manufacture, and ship PPE and save lives.
As the makers stepped up, the community at large has done so as well with 90% of our $100,000 GoFundMe campaign funded. For every dollar that is contributed we expect to deliver $4 worth of PPE for free. The out pouring of support has lifted our spirits and kept us going late into the night to get our healthcare facilities what they need to save lives.
