This is a four-session class. In the first session (Friday Sept 18, 6:00pm) we will discuss process and materials, design our cutting boards, and compose our group order for wood from Intermountain Hardwoods. In the second session (Thursday Sept 24, 6:00pm) we will mill our lumber to size using the miter saw, jointer, planer, and table saw, then cut and glue-up our wood strips. In the third session (Friday Sept 25, 6:00pm) we will cut our end-grain slabs into strips and glue-up again. In the fourth session we will use the CNC router to surface our boards, and final-trim our boards to size. Cost for the class will be based on the wood used (likely $25-$40) plus $5 for glue and auxiliary materials.
Prerequisite: "Introduction to Woodshop" class.
Nice to have: Experience with CNC router and gluing-up wood planks.
