The goal of this class is to learn basic upholstery techniques: foam sizing and cutting, cover design, fabric selection and sewing, piping and zippers. The class is appropriate for makers who have taken intro to textiles AND are comfortable with basic machine sewing.
We will create one chair or bench type cushion each. Alternatively, you could create a throw/decorative pillow as the skills transfer well.
You will likely need to acquire and bring your own supplies, depending on your desired project. There are some available materials in the textiles lab.
To make this class relevant to you and allow for custom projects, I have included requirements in the registration for project planning. You do not have to know exact details, as I will communicate with you to develop the design. But, please do give me your best idea. Designs must be completed before class. If supplies need to be ordered, that of course takes time. Thanks!
