Make your own vacuum formed 3D Objects! We will build your knowledge of the vacuum former. You can form your personalized objects for you to take home. You can optionally come with a positive mold for forming your plastic shell. For successful positive (male) vacuum forming, molds should be:

  • no larger than 4" tall x 16" length x 26" width.
  • solid (porous materials like FDM prints and MDF work great!). These withstand vacuum pressure without distortion.
  • have gentle slopes (>3% draft) and avoid undercuts. This ensuring details transfer well and thin plastic layers don’t tear when the mold is removed.
  • Strategic air vents can be nice to have as well.

Plastic sheets for forming are covered by the material fees.

DM Nick on Slack if you have questions about your molding ideas.
