.intro class.
This is the first introduction class to the glass “hot shop”.*Any molten glass working area is called the “hot shop”, vs. cold fabrication of glass, in what is referred to as the, “cold-shop”.
Learn the fundamentals of hot glass brewing first learning how to sculpt molten glass as solid form. Designed for beginners, Level One: “Hot Sculpting” will begin to teach students how to work with hot glass in its solid state. If you enjoy the material a Level Two: “Glass Blowing” class is offered, where students learn to make hollow vessels with hot glass. Both classes are essential to learn basic techniques and the traditional tools to develop a foundational understanding of molten glass.
Under guidance of a professional instructor, Lucy Olechowski, each student will create two unique glass pieces: a sculpted flower and a paperweight.
This small 2-3 persons class size ensures personalized instruction and a safe, engaging learning environment. If there is time available we will go into learning how to blow glass, which dives into the level two glass class!
