Tailoring: Basics of altering and adjusting the fit of garments

We will delve into the basics of adjusting and customizing the fit of garments. Principles of size and fit as well as sewing techniques and tricks/tips will be discussed.

Please bring a garment you would like to tailor, and we will have independent, supported time towards the end of class to work on tailoring your garment. 

NB: I, Leah, have no formal education in tailoring. Tailoring is a whole, complex profession that involves high level sewing and design skills. This class will be an introduction suitable for anyone with some basic sewing experience focused on practical, relatively easy adjustments. There will be seam ripping :)
