Introduction to the Laser Cutting

- Navigating the laser User interface
- Cutting 1/4″ plywood
- Post-cut cleaning
- Finishing techniques for wood pieces
How to prepare for the class:
During the class you will cut a predesigned vector file. Feel free to your own create a vector file to execute on the machine. Your file must be no larger than 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) and be in a .dxf format. We encourage members to spend time, developing their VCarve Pro skills, you can create vector files quite easily with VCarve Pro! Email Brian if you need a free client license.
Please arrive on time, the class will start at 6pm sharp.
Note:
Please sign up at least 36 hours in advance to secure your place in the class. Call the MakerLab 970-259-9234 (ext 105) if you are signing up within 36 hours of the class. We can not accept any walk ins, You must be registered for the class isn advance in order to take the class.
Refund policy:
If a cancellation is received at least 3 full days before an event / class begins, a refund will be issued for the tuition amount minus a 15% administration fee. Cancellations received fewer than 3 full days before the first day will not be refunded. Full fees will be refunded if the MakerLab cancels an event / class . We will notify participants the day of if an event / class does not fill.
I am not really sure what exactly laser cutting is, but i am curious…. Obviously a never before beginner
